UltraZap 3 Bag Bubble Bead Filter
Bead filters are closed (pressure) vessels filled with thousands of plastic beads. These beads are very close together and form a layer through which the water is forced by a pump. As a result, the dirt particles stick in the beads. If the filters are used for some time, the biofilm (the sticky layer) around the beads becomes thicker, so that finer and finer dirt is caught.
Bead filters provide superior backwash ability that comes with the blower. The advantages over a sand filter are ease of maintenance as the blower does all the heavy lifting for you with masses more agitation of the bead bed than a a sand filter can ever hope to achieve. The plastic media (included) should never need replacement and the filter can achieve a measure of bio filtration as an added bonus.
Comes with blower attached and one bag of media. Additional media can be purchased separately.
