SaltyShrimp Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 Refill – 110G

Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 was developed after scientific analysis of the lakes of the Malili lakes system on Sulawesi and is used to harden osmosis water, rainwater, fully desalinated water etc. It only dissolves in water with a little effort, but you can achieve a water composition that is almost identical to yours can be found in Lake Towuti, with a correspondingly high pH value of approx. 8.5, which reduces the germ load.

Sulawesi mineral 8.5contains all the important minerals and trace elements for health, well-being and the rich colors of the well-known shrimp species from this region. It promotes microbial regeneration in organic filter substrates. The risk of dangerous germs is also reduced by promoting antagonistic (counteracting) microflora. Increases the carbonate hardness and total hardness in the ratio KH/GH = 0.78/1.0.

Since there are still difficulties in breeding the very sensitive shrimp from Lake Towuti (e.g. the harlequin shrimp – Caridina woltereckae or red stripe shrimp – Caridina striata), we undertook a trip to the lakes after 2008, most recently in 2011 to find out more about the exact living conditions to be examined on site and to have water samples analyzed.
The results of the water analyzes showed fundamental differences in the water chemistry of the lakes of the Malili system compared to generally known lake water types, so that we had to completely reassemble the constellation of minerals here; this resulted in the Sulawesi mineral 8.5.

The less sensitive Sulawesi shrimp such as the cardinal shrimp (Caridina dennerli) can be kept and trained well with Sulawesi Mineral 7.5 and Sulawesi Mineral 8.5. With the very sensitive shrimp species, we hope for better long-term success with the Sulawesi Mineral 8.5, which was modeled almost identically to the water chemistry of Lake Towuti.

Instructions for use
Stir the Sulawesi salt Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 into the water outside of the aquarium. It only dissolves over a few days with the addition of CO2. With a normal amount of CO2 (one bubble per second), the salt dissolves completely in about 3-4 days. After the addition of CO2, the water must then be aerated with an aerator for at least 3 hours in order to expel the CO2 again. The water is then ready for use. A temperature adjustment to the aquarium water is recommended. Undissolved particles should be added to the aquarium. Close the can after each use.

Harden osmosis water, rainwater, fully desalinated water, etc. with Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 to approx. 7 °dH and conductance approx. 220 +/- 40 µS (microsiemens), which corresponds to approximately one level measuring spoon (approx. 3 g) to 20 Litre water. Measuring spoon included.
